The Chilliwack Tennis Society (CTS) was founded by Gudrun Anderson in 2009 and incorporated as a non-profit society to connect tennis players in Chilliwack. After immigrating from Germany, where she played in several clubs, Gudrun's goal was to grow the sport with the vision of having a dedicated facility for year round play.
Finally there was an organized voice for tennis in the upper Fraser Valley!
Since that time, we have promoted tennis in the area, and supported tennis players in Chilliwack.
We strive to support and create affordable tennis opportunities, and grow year-round tennis for our community and guests.
Even though we do not have reserved outdoor courts, or a dedicated indoor tennis facility for our use, we have a consistent membership base, with a slow but steady influx of new members.
During the summer months we offer fun social and competitive tournaments, informal drop-in tennis, ladders, round robin events, etc. During the Fall/Winter months we organize indoor tennis sessions at the Landing Sports Centre.
We want to share our passion for tennis, and encourage people of all ages and abilities to become involved in our favourite sport.
The CTS supports new players by helping them arrange group or private sessions with a certified coach. We also help players new to the area connect with our members, and join in both informal and organized playing sessions.
During the Fall/Winter/Spring months, Coach Phil offers indoor group lessons for children and teens, with close to 60 students participating each week. In the summer he offers week-long Tennis Camps for children/youth, and private or group lessons for adults and families.
